I was born in Ireland and was one of 13 children. We came from humble beginnings.
My mother had nothing but was always happy and content. Her philosophy in life was "If you got your health, you got everything". She also said that you will never starve in her house, there will always be bread on the table and home baking.
I Immigrated to NZ After being in NZ for 5 years, I split up with my first husband and moved to Taupo with my 3 children.
As I was a single mum, I had to be self-sufficient and make do with what I had so I upcycled things that people have given me. When I met my second husband, we moved to Masterton. I started doing markets selling little girls dresses, bunting and cushions. I did a small business course and that opened up all sorts of opportunities for me.
I also joined a woman's business group and met other like-minded women who helped me grow my business. I love with natural fibres which leads me down the path I'm on now with my Boutique in the Wairarapa selling Linen and Silk clothing from Italy. I just love linen. You will too.
